Prices, Policies and Information for Authors
PRICES
We go to some trouble to keep our book prices as low as possible and we think that our books are excellent value. One of the reasons we do this is that we know that many practitioners are volunteers and also many trainee counsellors and psychotherapists live on a tight budget. With this in mind we would ask you to notice those books written and priced to meet the needs of trainees:
• Several are priced at or below £15.00 — a remarkable cover price for core course texts when you remember that all books ordered on this site get a further 5% discount
• All trainee texts are accessible and easy-to-read
• Many feature as course texts on trainings up to and including diploma level in training institutes, universities and colleges throughout the UK and a few overseas.

PRICE INCREASES
Having made such a big deal about low prices, the bad news is that we do increase prices on some of our books from time to time. However, clichéd though it may be, we are confident that we still offer the best value by far in counselling publishing.

SPECIAL OFFERS
From time to time we run special offers on individual books, series of books or combinations of books. Take a look at our 'Special Offers' page on the left-hand navigation bar.

OUR MISSION
Unlike the majority of publishers we are dedicated to a couple of narrow themes (the Person-Centred Approach and critical psychology). However, like most publishers, we aim to publish work that we think deserves to be read. Sometimes that means we publish books that authors have had trouble getting published elsewhere. We favour radical, critical work and we value both individual freedom and social responsibility. That can mean that some of our titles aren’t exactly bestsellers, but if you want to be challenged, read the descriptions of the books and take a chance.

DELIVERY

Charges
UK Customers: All online orders receive 5% discount. All orders are free of delivery charges and dispatched by second-class post.
Overseas Customers: All online orders receive 5% discount. We then add 10% delivery for customers in Western Europe which brings the total back up to a few pence over the original cover price of the book. And 20% delivery for the Rest of the World. All overseas orders are shipped by airmail.

Policies
UK Customers: We aim to dispatch all orders within one working day. [Except out-of-stock books.] Orders are sent out by second-class post, which means that UK customers can expect delivery within four working days of placing their order, but we are at the mercy of the postal system. Our videos and CD-Roms are sent out by recorded delivery, and a signature will be required by the postal service. If you want secure, next-day delivery on most orders (up to around 15 books), we can do this at a charge of £6.00 per order. You will have to call our office 01989 763 900 before mid-day to arrange this. Please note that our courier requires a signature before leaving the books at the delivery address.
Overseas Customers: Overseas customers can expect delivery between 5-10 working days depending upon where they live. [approx e.g. Western Europe 3-4 days, US 5 days, Australasia, 7 days] Express deliveries overseas are very expensive and we do not recommend them.
